I’ve managed to create 1 decent looking, modestly dressed female character and I honestly might not create any more. I want to see some nice heeled boots like Hildes SC4 2P, the return of things like silver boots and more necklace options, armor pieces that are more flattering that fit the body. Both SC3 and 4 had really nice feminine clothing options. What I find most frustrating about female creation this time around is that there’s not much that’s feminine. If you’re going to have shin armor just bring back the shin category like in SC3. Tira and Seong Mi-nas ponchos belong in the neck/back category (which I believe should be 2 separate categories) Takis boots don’t even have shoes?! I mean c’mon. I agree that most of the equipment shouldn’t be considered underwear, Xianghua’s dress most definitely belongs in middle torso, and her jacket should be included in the outer torso category. The female creation is the worst it’s ever been. Kindly refrain from overt self promotion So instead of discussing the strenghts and weaknesses of Pyra as a character, the conversation has been focused for ages on how big her breasts are and you can see her thong. And yet you (and a lot of other people) label her as oversexualized fanservice because you think she is showing too much skin and her breasts are too big. In fact she's a better character that Rex, the male protagonist. ![]() But take Pyra for example, she's a very well defined character with depth and a strong agency. There are characters whose only reason to exist is being sexually attractive to the player. First released in 2018, Soulcalibur VI has enjoyed a steady, if a little obscure, run in the FGC. ![]() If that's not sexist, I don't know what it is.Īgain, I'm not saying that there's no sexualization and objectification of female characters in video games. Soulcalibur VI is one of the underrated games within the fighting game niche. So instead of discussing the strenghts and weaknesses of Pyra as a character, the conversation has been focused for ages on how big her breasts are and how you can see her thong. ![]() And I dislike it because it ties with real world issues regarding how women are judged based on their appearance (like saying that a woman is a slut because she dresses in a way that someone founds provocative).Īgain, I'm not saying that there's no sexualization and objectification of female characters in video games. I'm sorry but that strikes me as kind of victorian or just overly conservative. Lots of times (not only on this thread) the scale used to make the distinction seems to be the amount of skin shown. My point is that the concept of "overly sexualized" instead of "ok sexualized" is totally arbitrary and subjective.
